This past weekend I went to Colby Kansas for an event that is related to advocacy I do around the issue of disabilities. I brought home more than souvenirs with me. I also brought home every pollen and allergen in the air from Colby to Topeka.
I have not felt like putting anything substantial together for my piece this week. I just can’t focus enough through the sneezing, coughing and runny nose to get anything of significant use out to you my subscribers.
However, with that being said I am sticking to the publishing schedule that my ChatGPT assistant Leif has helped me create.
When you’re on the road it’s a landmine trying to navigate the food that you can eat when you decide to give up food that has soy in it. My go to chips or chip’ish snack are Bugles. They are fried in coconut oil. I also found some popcorn that was not popped in soybean oil. At the event luncheon I had a dog with no bun, mashed potatoes, green beans and a burger with no bun. For condiments I had ketchup and a mayo that wasn’t made with soybean oil. I did cave to the bread god at the Cozy Inn a burger dive in Salina Kansas. You can’t have their burgers without a bun.
I took my meds on schedule as prescribed and I stayed on schedule going to sleep. I had to be up early to go tour a dairy farm. That was part of the event offerings for the weekend.
There was also a yogurt social the night we rolled into town. So my hosts for the weekend and I went to the yogurt social. The yogurt came from the milk from the dairy we would tour the next day. We also got free yogurt at the diary farm.
Overall despite bringing allergies home with me the weekend was really great. I met new people and had new experiences.
Here are some pics of the dairy farm we got to tour.
